If you’re tired of the city’s noise, seeking solitude and tranquility, or simply want to relax in nature with your family or friends, head to the outskirts of Utrecht to unwind at the Stayokay hostel in Bunnik. This is the perfect place to clear your mind, interact with the local farm animals, and peacefully wander under the canopies of ancient trees.
This is truly a serene place. This historic hotel is designed to help you relax the moment you step inside. Stayokay is surrounded by a small pond, and farm animals graze right outside your window. Here, roosters crow and hens cluck in the mornings, just like at your grandmother’s village.
I used to always stay in the city center, where the streets were noisy, the chatter from local restaurants was constant, and cars honked, but here, my hostel was nestled in the forest, on the banks of the small Kromme Rijn river.
Stayokay Hostel in Bunnik is a real gem. It’s not just a magnificent building but also impressively located. Stayokay is situated in an old castle just a few minutes’ drive from the city of Utrecht, one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands (don’t forget to check out my post about this wonderful city).
Not to mention that it’s incredibly easy to get to from Amsterdam, making it a great spot for a weekend getaway. Imagine waking up in this setting or enjoying a cup of tea in the quiet garden as evening falls!
The Stayokay Hostel is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Utrecht, where you’ll discover numerous walking trails and cozy pubs to refresh yourself before bed. The best part is that this area is not as bustling, despite having a great selection of shops and cafes nearby.
If you’re vacationing in the Netherlands, especially around Utrecht, be sure to visit Stayokay. It’s truly a lovely place, with grazing geese, green forests, and marshy inlets.
