It’s as if the universe knew I was craving snow, and now it’s abundant, all in just one night. I hadn’t seen snow for almost a whole year, and I captured these shots in the morning, and even the next day it continued to fall. My happy heart trembled because of the snow.
Snow often makes people happy. It evokes a sense of peace, tranquility, and nostalgia for carefree youth. Its slow descent makes you stop and observe how the snowflakes move through the air and softly land on your eyelashes. This feeling sends shivers down your entire body. Despite the low temperature outside, warmth spreads within you.
Winter months are the worst months of the year; they are bleak, with few bright colors and much melancholy. It’s hard to stay positive in winter when there’s a blizzard outside, and you have to get out of your warm bed and trudge to work.
However, as soon as the snow covers the gray asphalt, we often feel that life becomes, if not full of joy, then at least more bearable.
Snow brings novelty and change to life. It envelops us and literally refreshes us. In winter, we travel less, we have more holidays and vacations. We sleep more and put life on hold, only to wake up and bloom again.
There’s nothing better than being the first to step outside and make tracks on the freshly fallen pristine snow. At a time when rains have a way of surrounding us with gray mist, its frozen counterpart creates enchanting frosted landscapes from the winter wonderland.
Perhaps one of the most wondrous aspects of snow’s existence is that it’s fleeting. In some corners of the world where snow falls, it disappears as quickly as it arrives. And that’s a big reason why we love it so much.
