“What you do every day is no longer a pleasure, it becomes a habit.” Recently I saw this thought in one of the public and it reminded me of how to make sure that you always feel inspired and do not get into a creative block. I think the key to everything is to build inspiration into your daily routine, as well as other habits like brushing your teeth early in the morning and exercising after bed every day. You don’t have to look for inspiration when it’s a habit. I have been creative since I was 20 and I still have unrealized creative projects (part of the struggle is not the lack of inspiration, but the availability of time for their implementation). So how to make inspiration a part of your routine, rather than a magic door we look for on certain occasions or a fleeting muse to chase after?

How to make inspiration a part of everyday life?

Surround yourself with inspiring things. The secret is that if you deliberately create your environment in such a way that there is something around you that makes the soul sing, inspiration will live among you. Pay attention to things you love. It can be a bouquet of flowers or a beautiful cup. Don’t wait until you get into a creative groove – regularly freshen up the space with new pleasant things and rituals. When you need an idea, you already have soil from which to grow it.

Inspiration can be found anywhere, but here are a couple more ideas on how to incorporate it into your daily life. Follow interesting people on social networks who create beautiful photos or do any kind of creative work. Even if you are not a photographer, you can be inspired by the work of a completely different figure, for example, creating a luxurious bouquet or seeing a brooch on an actress after watching a movie. Browse social networks who share interesting stories, images, and more.

Find time to read books, watch movies, and get out into nature. Don’t treat these activities as a special occasion, but rather make it into your daily routine. And perhaps most importantly, focus fully to absorb and see the details.

Inspiration lives among us, but sometimes we need to pause to see it through the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Reading a book will clear your mind if you put your phone down and focus on the story unfolding around you. Try to include all the fantasy in order to present the fullest possible narrative of the author, try to use all the senses.

For me, a wonderful source of inspiration is Pinterest with magical illustrations. Sometimes I find artists who create works of art, and I also stumble upon atmospheric photographs of picturesque locations that I save to my wish list.

At such moments, I realize that I am rediscovering myself and understand what I love most. When I discover a new artist that I admire, I remember that the echoes of what I like sounded in my childhood. Then I flip through books with reproductions and learn more about painting. And then I go to make my own.

Inspiration doesn’t have to be looked for when it lives in our daily lives and when we feel these bursts of inspiration, we can make lists of ideas to use in future projects when we find ourselves in a creative block. This does not mean that we will always have the strength and energy to implement all the ideas or that we will never leave the creative stream, but most likely, if we create these habits, we will no longer perceive inspiration as something elusive. At least we will know where and how we can find it.
