Summer is the warmest and most tranquil time of the year, when nature blossoms, the sun shines, and the rain refreshes. We wait so long for summer that we rejoice when it arrives and feel so sad when it ends. These three months fly by incredibly fast. That’s why we need to make the most of the warmth and sunshine. Although I’m not usually one to follow must-do lists, I’m posting this summer to-do list.

Summer To-Do List

After all, no one is forcing you to do everything on this list. Even if you complete a third or even a quarter of it, trust me, you’ll remember this summer! Don’t strive to check off every single item; instead, focus more on enjoying the process.

Each of us wants truly vivid emotions, like those from school vacations at grandma’s village. Emotions that are evoked by the smells of a blooming garden, the tastes of homemade pastries, and the long-healed scars on our knees. In those moments, we were happy.

Over time, our lives have become routine, and we don’t always have the chance to feel alive. Here’s a summer to-do list to help make this season wonderful:

  • Buy a pot, seeds, and grow strawberries on your windowsill.
  • Stay up all night. Draw, listen to the singing of night birds, and watch the sunrise.
  • Spend a night in a dense forest.
  • Venture into the deep woods in search of forest treasures.
  • Rummage through the entire summer house in search of vintage dresses from your mom.
  • Brew blueberry wine and bottle it in vintage bottles.
  • Write a collection of fairy tales about nature.
  • Reread old issues of your childhood magazines (if you still have them).
  • Gather with friends in nature, tell stories around a campfire, and sing camp songs.
  • Collect a herbarium of wild grasses and label all the names in Latin.

Summer To-Do List

  • Gather mushrooms, berries, and herbs. Dry them. Then, on winter evenings, drink tea with a taste of summer.
  • Spend time with family, walking around neighboring towns and museums.
  • Take lots of photos and create a summer collage from them.
  • Make lots of paper boats and launch them in the water.
  • Take a long trip to a new country.
  • Add something new to your room – rearrange the furniture, get vases for flowers, and buy an antique dresser.
  • Get soaked to the bone in the rain, then warm up by the fireplace with tea and your favorite movie.
  • Collect fresh bouquets for your room every day.
  • Buy antique flower books from a second-hand bookstore.
