This spring is a time of wonders, inspiration, and new chances. If you follow my Instagram, you probably know that spring is my favorite time of the year, along with autumn (but we’ll talk about that another time). I don’t know how it works, but spring makes me feel exhilarated and particularly happy. It’s like coming back to life after a long sleep. I love spring for absolutely everything, but there are some moments that make this season special for me. So, here they are, things that make spring the most amazing time of the year.
What I love about springtime:
Long days. More light, more sun, more free time. Sometimes I get really tired of dark, gloomy winter evenings. Warm and bright days give me more free time for my hobbies: traveling, photography, and being in nature.
Birdsong. Actually, you can hear birdsong in our area even in winter. But in spring, it sounds different, somehow happier and more resonant. I think the birds are as happy as we are, finally saying goodbye to winter.
Blooming. There’s nothing surprising about this. Flowers are one of those things that make me absolutely happy, whether it’s just a peony standing on my table in the tiniest vase. Snowdrops shyly bowing their tiny heads over the melting snow. Then crocuses dressed in yellow, purple, and white dresses.
Cheerful daffodils and delicate tulips. Blooming gardens; forests turning green after winter dormancy; and of course, the pink magic of cherry blossoms, which makes the world look absolutely enchanting. And that scent everywhere, it drives me crazy and makes my head spin. Truly, spring blooming is one of the most wonderful things in the world. What I love about spring else?
Picnics and reading in nature. Spring picnics are my favorite activity in spring. I like to pack a book, buns, and fruits into a basket, grab coffee on the way, and then comfortably settle on a bench or under a tree, immersing myself in reading.
May thunderstorms. They are so fresh, aren’t they? I adore the smell of earth and air after a heavy downpour. Incredibly beautiful. When thunder rumbles and rain pours, I always try to be on my balcony, pour myself a cup of tea, and stand there, watching as it pours, as if from a bucket, over the whole neighborhood. And listening to the rumble. These moments are incredible. At this time, an unwavering calm and silence are born inside me.
Being active. I love spring for long walks and travels. At this time, I feel most active and always can’t wait for new discoveries. The beautiful world outside the window once again urges me to go out with my camera and capture the most touching moments.
A new look. Finally, you can forget about those thick layers of clothing and put them away in the farthest corner of the closet for a long time. It’s time for airy skirts and long dresses, delicate blouses with floral patterns, and bright accessories. It’s a time to change yourself, to create a new image. And not only externally.
Creativity. Spring for me is creativity. As soon as the snow melts, a stream of new ideas rushes into my head. And moreover, in spring, these thoughts often come to life. It’s definitely the most inspiring and optimistic season for me.
A new beginning. Spring means a return to life, and for me, it really is. It’s hard to explain, but I feel “reborn” after a deep sleep. It’s the best feeling in the world. At this time, I bloom along with the flowers.
