Autumn is a tricky time, with darkness and grayness outside, daylight hours getting shorter, and it becoming harder to wake up in the mornings – it’s difficult not to succumb to melancholy and sadness. However, I try not to forget that it’s important to keep the spark alive inside during this time, otherwise, it’s easy to slip into depression. I want to share a list of where to find energy on gloomy days.

Where to get energy on gloomy days

What charges me up and gives me energy on cloudy days.

Lighting candles – buying a variety of beautiful and fragrant candles and placing them throughout the room.

Cozy pajamas – getting yourself some lovely and comfortable home attire.

Warm cozy lighting – instead of just relying on the ceiling light, use several soft lamps, candles, and even fairy lights.

Indulging in a bath – toss in some bath salts or bath bombs. Set up the space so you can enjoy reading a good book or watching a movie with a glass of wine.

A small treat – even if it’s chilly outside and you don’t feel like going out, a quick walk for a cappuccino at a nearby cafe or a stroll in the park will surely lift your spirits. Treat yourself to such small gifts more often, and you’ll feel cozier during this cold time.

Nature walks – if the weather allows, walk until your legs ache. Put on your favorite music or bring a friend. You can go on a little trip to a neighboring town or simply venture out into nature to the nearest park.

Short workouts – watch 10-minute workout videos on YouTube and follow the trainer’s moves. Despite the inclination to stay indoors during autumn, physical activity is still essential. These short workouts won’t take much time but will give you a burst of energy and a good mood afterward.

Tidy up your home – where to get energy on gloomy days else? clear out the clutter and give your apartment a thorough clean. Then, you know how great it will be to relax in a sparkling clean apartment with a glass of wine and a good TV series. It will definitely be worth all the effort!

Add seasonal touches – you can also rearrange your furniture. You don’t have to completely overhaul the layout, but you can definitely make some changes to the interior. This will freshen up your space. Also, add seasonal items to your decor. Autumn is the time for Halloween, mushrooms, and harvest. You can make garlands out of dried leaves and hang them above your bed or place cute ghosts among the books on the shelves or on the dresser.

Take solitary walks – walking through the park with a cup of coffee is a special pleasure. You might want to invest in a special thermos for such cozy walks. They are too beautiful and convenient. These thermoses come in a wide range of styles for every taste – for city walks, hiking, small or large ones, for drinks or food. By the way, it’s a pleasant and generally neutral gift for New Year’s if you’re still looking!

Appreciate simple joys – this year, we’ve all been reminded of how much happiness there is in a simple walk, meeting friends, or just enjoying the October foliage or the first snow in November. And how much pleasure there is in a favorite hobby!
