You can’t say about my house that it’s cluttered. Even though the household items are quite simple, they look cute and tidy. They don’t have a vintage or fairy-tale charm. They’re just things I like. I don’t have a special place for books, so they just lie in a pile on the table along with mugs and various stationery. Even though I love organizing clothes by color and lining up shoes in pairs along the free wall in the hallway, I wouldn’t go out of my way to take pictures to showcase my most ordinary life.
What I want to say is that I love beautiful things. Mostly, my wardrobe consists of dresses, and I don’t have much practical clothing. However, I won’t care for a beautiful scarf if it’s scratchy. Sometimes, the contents of an adorable coffee mug can be downright awful compared to the cup itself.
Sometimes I think people can be obsessed with appearances, forgetting to consider whether the vintage shoes they buy are comfortable. I have to admit, I once bought such shoes that were too small for me. I managed to go outside in them, but returning home resulted in terrible pain and a bad mood.
I realized that I want to be surrounded by beautiful things, but I also want them to bring me comfort and joy.
In any case, this day was the simplest, filled with the most obvious joys. Early in the morning, I drank coffee, ate a couple of cheese sandwiches, and went to the park to breathe the fresh winter air. I was in the most ordinary everyday jacket, which was incredibly comfortable and warm. I wandered for a long time among the winter-bare thickets and was quite pleased with it. I really wanted this morning to last as long as possible.
It might seem that there wasn’t a hint of charm or feminine allure in my appearance, as people usually dress like that to walk their dogs or go to the nearby store for bread. But I don’t want to document only the most picturesque side of my life with castles and gardens here. That’s partly true. But there is another side of my life – it is no different from most people.
I am very glad to realize the fact that true beauty can be found in the simplest places and moments. Like the park next to your house or the snowflakes that will settle on your shoulders. Sometimes, I am happy to go out in everyday clothes and live the most ordinary life.
