While it’s cool and rainy outside, deep inside me, a big sun is shining! So, it’s the perfect time to tell you about my 8 scents of happiness. By the way, did you know that scents are capable of triggering memories and transporting us to distant moments, perhaps already forgotten?
So, my happiness smells like:
π Evening breeze after a very hot summer day, when it’s starting to cool down a bit, and the wind carries all the warmth of the cooling earth. In such almost hot wind, there’s everything – the scent of the sea, even though it’s thousands of kilometers away, the scent of meadow grasses, and the hot aroma of the desert and scorched steppe; it’s as if all the happy summer evenings that have happened in your life are collected in it, there’s so much beauty and hope in it, such a wind intoxicates and spins the head.
π The smell of country bonfires, specifically country ones, when in spring and autumn they burn leaves and dry grass, the smell of childhood.
π Dill, that’s how summer smells to me, if I were asked to fit a whole summer into one scent, it would be the smell of dill.
π The scent of a pine forest on a hot day, when it smells of warmth and resin.
π The smell of the first frosts, when in early November you go out early in the morning, and there’s the first ice on the puddles, when the air is so crystal clear and so fresh and frosty that if you listen carefully, you can hear it ringing and vibrating.
π The smell of city dust at the end of May, when you open the window in the evening and the aromas of the first greenery, blooming trees, warmth, and dust rush into the house, when suddenly you realize that summer has come.
π The smell of a storm, when the sky clouds over, everything is permeated with invisible electricity, when it’s both scary and joyful, and there’s some kind of completely childish delight when you feel almost drunk with the power and strength of the impending force of nature.
π The smell of radiators, you know, when in autumn they don’t turn on the heating for a long time, and you’ve already gotten used to wearing woolen socks and sweaters and have sort of resigned yourself to the fact that it’s cold and damp at home, when suddenly the radiators start to gurgle and heat up, they smell of some special ‘radiator’ warmth, but from this smell, I immediately feel very cozy.
Actually, I like more scents, but I would like to keep them to myself..
